Spring is upon us and sometimes it can be difficult to follow recent trends, especially if you have perfectly good clothing items that you don’t really want to go to waste. So here are some classic spring wardrobe staples that you can keep wearing year after year, no questions asked.

Floral Dress

Floral dresses are a sure fire way to increase the temperature in our outfit and celebrate all things that are in bloom. No matter what shape or style dress, floral is definitely away to rid the winter blues. teaming this with a jean jacket or a cardigan for different weather (because Spring is unpredictable, after all) can really pull this outfit together. Tennis shoes, flats or heels are all options for footwear, whatever you find comfort in!

Jean Jacket

Simple yet versatile, a jean jacket can really put together a casual outfit. It’s perfect for the “in-between” weather. I personally prefer the lighter denims in the Spring and Summer and sometimes even opt for pastel colours for a bolder statement.

Graphic/Slogan tees

A graphic or slogan tee is a pretty universal piece which you could pair with pretty much anything; jeans, culottes, paper bag trousers, midi skirt, maxi skirt, it just goes well and makes the outfit just that bit more interesting!

Polka Dot Blouse

this sweet and preppy style works with all kinds of outfits. Work, casual, formal, you cannot go wrong! Some of my favourite ways to style a polka dot blouse is with cigarette trousers, or a blazer co-ord.

Platform Trainers

I’ll admit, pretty much any trainers or lace up shoes would fit here but there’s something about flatform/platform trainers that just casts my mind to Spring fashion. I feel like these are a short girl’s best friend (AKA mine!) and add a bit of height as well as look pretty damn nice. Again, these can be teamed up to work universally with pretty much any outfit. A day dress, jeans, smart casual, anything goes!

Knitted Cardigan

You cannot beat a good knitted cardigan. I feel like these are definitely a Spring must-have, especially for the days where yeah okay, the sun is shining, but there’s a few clouds about so it’s not time to completely strip down to bare arms. I really love oversized cardigans because they’re so snuggly and comfy. It’s the perfect grab’n’go jacket and a feminine touch to any look.

Available from H&M for £12.99

Trench Coat

I love a good trench coat. It’s timeless, classy and adds a bit of elegance to an outfit. Also lightweight but also waterproof, perfect for those April showers. I always think the classic beige is a winner, but whichever suits your taste!
