Just a Cup of Disney: 100% Princess Mug

Welcome back to Just a Cup of Disney! Where I’ll be sharing with you some amazing Disney mugs and mugs that I find for you to add to your collection. Today’s mug is perfect for any Disney Princess mug.

The Disney Princess franchise is a big part of the Disney family. There’s over 11 main Disney princesses and over 20 who are out of the main lineup. While Cinderella may be classed as the most classic Disney princess, it’s Snow White who was the first original Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film, which was released in 1937. Disney’s latest Princess is Moana, whose film released back last year in 2016.

This adorable mug is perfect for any Disney Princess at heart. Featuring some of the original princesses, including Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White and Mulan, there’s also the slogan which says “100% Princess”, fit for any royalty. I actually got this for my friend’s birthday a few weeks ago, so I thought it would be perfect to feature here. You can get it from Truffle Shuffle for just £6.99!

Who is your favourite princess? Would you add this Disney princess mug to your collection?

March Monthly Favourites 2017

Last month was quite quiet for me, so I decided not do a monthly favourites. However, I’m back and have quite a bit to share with you for my March monthly favourites.

Divide (Deluxe Edition) – Ed Sheeran

Ed’s big return after his year-long hiatus (which was a good idea for the hectic year of 2016) was highly anticipated by millions and he did not disappoint. In just one week alone, the album received close to 9 million streams, which is highly impressive. Sheeran also managed to get 20 of his tracks in the UK Top 40, which is an incredible record. The album has an eclectic sound, with Irish folk to songs evoking golden-age pop, from jittery guitars to a wispy ballad, there was something for everyone on Ed’s third album. Divide definitely exceeded my expectations and I have found myself playing it multiple times since the release beginning of this month. My favourite songs include Nancy Mulligan – an Irish folk-y song, dedicated to the love story of his grandparents, Barcelona – a song that makes my wanderlust soar and Bibia Be Ye Ye – which which literally translates to “Everything will be alright”.

Available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and in most stores

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit in Runway

I’ve never truly seen an appeal to the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, probably because of my lack of interest in the Kardashian-Jenner family, but when Barry M released these limited edition lip kits at such an affordable price, I knew I had to get one. I’ve been a fan of Barry M since I first experimented with make-up when I was around the age of 11 and the quality of their products is amazing for the price range. I stood in the Superdrug store, unsure of which shade to get. After a long decision and swiping the testers on the back of my hand, my mother and I decided that the shade Runway was best suited for me. Matte lip products can be a real hit or miss and I cannot stand something that is so drying, but these lip products were of a great quality and actually hydrating for a matte, which was hugely satisfying for me. The staying power is pretty strong, only needing to top up after eating a meal, so this is great if you want to wear for a few hours and not an issue to reapply on the go.

Available from Superdrug for £6.99

Disney Nerd: A Dream is A Wish Found at Primark with Disney

It’s no secret that Primark have definitely gone up in people’s estimations over the past few years and now Disnerds are majorly impressed with everything Disney at Primark. After being blown away with the amount of amazing Disney products available there on my last visit, I thought I’d do a round up of some of the must haves.

Beauty and the Beast socks – £3.00

With the release of the live action remake, it’s no surprise that Disney at Primark have jumped on the Beauty and the Beast bandwagon. These were the first thing on display in the Cardiff Primark so they automatically fell straight into my basket. These socks are so cute and affordable, I couldn’t say no! Perfect for any fan of the animation or the remake.

Bambi cup – £5.00

This cup is so fricking adorable! I’m really into cute and quaint cups, so this would definitely earn a place in my cup cupboard. Bambi is such an adorable Disney character and there’s quite a lot of homeware with him and Thumper on, so Bambi fans need to get a move on to see all the Disney at Primark because a large section is full of these sweet woodland creatures.

Review: Beauty and the Beast (2017)

Ever since the first announcement of the film being made, I have been desperate to see the live action of Beauty and the Beast. Two long years later, the day arrived and I made sure my mother and I were to see it on the day of release. Having fallen so in love with the original Disney animation released in 1991, I had high expectations for the remake.

The film is suitable for all the family; from the tiny tots to the big kids at heart, Beauty and the Beast has the capability of winning the hearts of people of all age groups. The first thing I noticed with this film in comparison to the animation is that it’s far more detailed, which is probably why it’s of a greater length than I expected. It was refreshing to be able to learn more about each character in this one, with a bit more backstory to who they are.

Another difference is that the violence in this version is a bit more graphic but nothing that’s too disturbing. Sword fights are more visual and theres a few punches from the likes of Gaston, but nothing that’s in need of PG and very minimal gore.

It’s a step in the right direction to see a racially diverse cast in the film, especially compared to the 1991 version. Representation is hugely important and to see even some of the supporting cast of different races was a big step towards better equality.

Disney Nerd: 10 facts about the live adaption of Beauty and the Beast

We are just days away until the release of Beauty and the Beast in cinemas, so to get you in the mood for an enchanted tale coming to a screen near you soon, here are 10 facts about Beauty and the Beast’s live action remake.

#1

Ryan Gosling was originally offered the role of the Beast, but turned it down for a role in La La Land, instead. Emma Watson, on the other hand, was offered a role in La La Land, but decided to take on the role of Belle. Nice bit of film swapsies, there.

#2

Disney originally weren’t too sure about making the live adaption of the film as a musical. That’s when director, Bill Condon, stepped in and said “With all due respect, I think you’re crazy. The songs are too good. You’re going to spend all this time making a huge, gorgeous live-action “Beauty and the Beast” and not do ‘Be Our Guest’?” And what a relief, how could you skip some of Disney’s most iconic songs in the remake?!

#3

Despite the film not being released until this week, filming was completed over 18 months prior on the 27th August 2015.

#4

Though he now plays the role in the live action, Sir Ian McKellen originally turned down the voice of Cogsworth in the original animation of Beauty and the Beast back in 1991.

#5

In preparation of the role of Belle, Emma Watson re-watched the original Disney release of Beauty and the Beast and began to take singing classes. Some real dedication right there.
