2017’s most anticipated album releases to get excited for

2016 had a lot of great albums, including Beyoncé’s Lemonade and Little Mix’s Glory Days, so 2017 has a lot to contend with. There’s undoubtedly a lot of competition for what will be this year’s biggest and best album, so here’s a list of the 2017’s most anticipated albums that are in the pipeline so far…

Ed Sheeran

Ed made his return this new year and everyone is rejoicing. Having made a comeback with not one, but two new singles, it’s no surprise that his third album, Divide, is currently number one on the Bestselling Pre-Orders on iTunes. The album is due to drop on 3rd March.

Katy Perry

It’s been over three years since the release of Prism but from what she’s posting on social media, it looks as if the final touches of Katy’s fourth album are being put into place. She’s been collabing with Sia, Rudimental and DJ Locksmith to name a few, though it’s unconfirmed as to whether or not these collaborations will make the final cut.

Hey Violet

One of the artists mentioned in my “Ones To Watch” post, 5 Seconds of Summer’s apprentice band are gearing up to release their debut album in the spring of this year. Having being signed to the Aussie pop-punk’s own label in 2015, the LA based band have toured twice with 5SOS as well as headlining their own European tour back in 2015. The album has been confirmed via the band’s management’s website.

10 songs to help you get over a broken heart

heartbreak-songs

As a twenty-something year old, it’s no surprise for me to get heartbreaks. True, I am a demisexual, but we also get our hearts broken, too. Just maybe not as much.

I don’t like to talk about personal relationships publicly or on blogs as I like to keep it within a circle of friends and maybe family. But, recently I’ve ended up broken hearted and pretty upset. Like I said, details aren’t needed but I’ve needed something to rely on without keeping on to my friends constantly about how I feel. I don’t want to bring it up all the time. So, I created a pretty big playlist with an explicit name to get my pain out. While there’s a hell of a lot of songs on there, I thought I’d pick out some of my favourites to share with you for either when you have heartbreak of your own or just love listening to music.

1. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) – Adele

Adele understands heartbreak and captures the emotions perfectly in her songs. This one doesn’t get you crying into your pillow while eating tubs of ice cream, but rather singing along on the top of your lungs as if you’re confronting your former flame with utmost confidence and happy vibes because you’re better than them.

2. Shoutout To My Ex – Little Mix

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know all about my love for Little Mix and this song even featured in my October Monthly Favourites. The girls describe this as a ‘happy breakup song’ and I totally agree. Even if you don’t have an ex partner to relate this to, they don’t specify what the ‘ex’ stands for, so it could be an ex crush, ex friend with benefit, whatever the reason you ex’d them out of your life, this song is perfect.

3. Stadium – Camryn

[spotify id=”spotify%3Atrack%3A01z1vFlwI47g2vwCptKKBT” width=”300″ height=”380″ /]

This song is by my friend, Camryn and I really feel like I can relate to this one. It’s an emotional song, but it’s not really slow and it’s telling that someone they’re now all alone in their stadium because you, their number one fan, has left the building. *snaps fingers*

4. You Don’t Know Love – Olly Murs

Olly Murs. What a babe. He’s written some real corkers when it comes to singles and this one really is one you can sing along to and even if you’re hurting, you can enjoy singing along and getting those emotions out through getting powerful with those vocals.

5. Heartless – Kanye West

This is basically the only Kanye song I like. It used to play on ‘Tiny Pop’ when I was a kid and it was kind of catchy. Now I feel like it’s one I can just play when I’m getting low vibes and just listen to when I’m lying down in bed or writing. No words needed, just sit and let the song play.

6. Since U Been Gone – Kelly Clarkson

This iconic song had to be included because Kelly, girl, you sum it up so well and the tune is a jam. Grab your hair brush and sing into it like the pop star you totally could be.

7. Best Thing I Never Had – Beyoncé

This is probably the one that best explains my situation and experience. It does bring on a tear or two but knowing someone as empowering and inspiring as Beyoncé has felt this kind of pain but can come out of the other side and leads the march of moving on for all broken hearted lovers to be able to get through the other side.

8. Hair – Little Mix

Another one by Little Mix but how could I not include this? It’s such a great tune to sing along to either alone or with your friends as you start your journey of moving on with your life and starting a new chapter.

9. Really Don’t Care – Demi Lovato ft Cher Lloyd

Demi has such a fantastic attitude in this song. It’s the attitude you aspire to achieve and emotion you intend to reach after the pain you feel. Plus, it’s really fun to rap Cher’s bridge.

10. Don’t – Ed Sheeran

I really love this song because Ed is such a lyrical genius and this is another great one to jam to. And just a reminder to anyone – don’t f*** with my or Ed’s love. Got it?

Band Aid 30: Better than the original?

Christmas 1984 saw the movement and release of Do They Know it’s Christmas? By British supergroup Band Aid. Founded by Midge Ure and Bob Geldof, the aim of Band Aid was to raise money for anti-poverty in Ethiopia.

Fast forward to today, 2014. It’s Band Aid’s 30th anniversary and we are facing a new crisis. Earlier this year, the world watched as it witnessed Africa suffer the devastating outbreak that is Ebola. According to the World Health Organisation, the outbreak has reached over 5,000 in the death toll.
