It’s always great to get some freebies on your side. Any regular reader of mine will know about my love for LUSH and with the brand growing in popularity every year, you may be intrigued to find out how you can get your hands on free LUSH products. There are three very easy ways to get some freebies from LUSH and I’m going to explain how you can nab them.

Recycle old pots, get a new one free!

If you are a regular user of LUSH products, in particular ones that come in pots – never throw away the packaging! If you read the labels carefully and you’ll see that they state if you bring back five finished pots, you get a fresh face mask for free. So, keep your old LUSH pots stashed and every time you reach five, be sure to take them back to LUSH to claim a freebie.

My Top 5 LUSH Products

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 23.08.11

LUSH is one of my favourite beauty brands and I mention their products a fair bit on this blog. I have a lot of products I’m love with but I’ve actually narrowed it down to five that I love the most which I’m recommending in this post.

5. Milky Bath bubble bar

milky bath

This bubble bar is definitely my favourite from LUSH. It contains orange oil and actual skimmed milk so while there’s no expiry date, I definitely recommend using this sooner rather than later. This bar creates a LOT of bubbles which, let’s be honest, are a major plus when it comes to bath time. I definitely recommend!

4. Charity Pot hand and body lotion

Charity Pot

This lotion is so soft on the skin and has a light and floral scent to it. Ingredients include Fair Trade shea butter, Rosewood Oil and Ylang Ylang oil. The best bit? 100% of the proceeds (minus VAT) go to various good causes  and the lid of your product tells you which charity you have supported. Feel good in more than one way!

3. Love Lettuce fresh face mask

Love Lettuce

This mask does wonders for my pores. It tightens them and helps balance out the oil in my t-zone. It smells amazing and includes seaweed gel, almond oil and honey. My face looks so much cleaner and brighter and feels super soft!

2. Cup O’Coffee exfoliating mask

Cup O Coffee

It’s funny because I don’t really like the taste of coffee but I absolutely love the smell. This exfoliating mask is an absolute Godsend. I have rough patches on my elbows and just after 10 minutes of putting this on them and washing it off, they were baby smooth. No surprise this includes coffee infusion! It works well as both a face and body mask and makes your skin feel so soft.

1. Intergalactic bath bomb

Intergalactic

My number one LUSH product is the Intergalactic bath bomb. It was in my April monthly favourites and as you can see from there, it’s like looking at the galaxy in your bath! It’s also super refreshing with ingredients such as grapefruit oil and peppermint oil. I love a good bath bomb, especially when it’s like watching a show of explosions full of colour when you put it in the water!

LUSH Oxford Street Haul

lush haul

On my most recent visit to London, I headed to Oxford Street with great eagerness to check out the all new LUSH store. Unlike most stores by the beauty company, the Oxford Street store is rather big consisting of a whole three stores and a whole lot of exclusives.

Bewildered by everything they had in store, I narrowed it down to a couple of products to bring home. I still had a long day ahead of me as well as a rather warm bus journey home where many of the fresh products would have been spoiled. Here’s what I managed to get my hands on…

 Double Vitality bath oil

12071393_10153657386995489_303749207_n

An Oxford Street exclusive – little beauty is a bath oil that smells like a mixture of peppermint and lemon. Made from two stars sandwiched together, the gorgeous buttery texture feels amazing on your hands. Though be warned- they can melt pretty easily in a warm temperature.

Candy Mountain bubble bar

12081539_10153657384830489_12020877_n

This gorgeous bubble bar is part of the Christmas season range and rather well known by LUSH lovers as it’s brought out every year. The sugar-sweet candy-floss scented bar is definitely one for people with a sweet tooth and does just an amazing job as the appeal of the product’s first impression. I had to use it before writing this blog as the scent was driving me crazy and almost cried out for me to put it to use.

Golden Wonder bath bomb

12092775_10153657384890489_254660787_n

I was originally intrigued by the look of this bath bomb, but was given a slight surprise when I picked it up as I felt something move. There is hidden content inside this beautiful bath bomb waiting to explode when it hits the water. It smells of a tangy orange and lime which are definitely great for a bath to awaken your moods.

Magic Wand reusable bubble bar

12071603_10153657384905489_614687448_n

Having seen this product last year used by the likes of Zoella and Tanya Burr, I was determined to ensure I picked up this product in time for the festive season. Sharing the same scent as the Snow Fairy bubble bath, this wand resembling bubble bar is attached to a wooden stick and definitely gives off the magic of Christmas vibes. It’s perfect for any young girl or those attracted to the colours and sweet scents and can be used a handful of times, too.

Dream Time Luxury bath oil

12071341_10153657384920489_1594700944_n

A newly redesign in the old product that seems to only be currently available in the Oxford store. Containing relaxing scents of Jasmine, Lavander and Ginger, it’s no wonder this product is perfect to use before bedtime.

Milky Bath bubble bar

12092266_10153657384960489_1374047453_n

This cute little bubble bar is perfect for softening your skin and water in the bath. The ingredients such as skimmed milk and cocoa are perfect for making the water feeling creamy and the scent lingered on my hands for sometime after.

Oxford Street tote bag

12067193_10153657384850489_51134827_n

With the Oxford Street store being the rage of all LUSH fans, I had to get something to remember my trip. I’m a big fan of bags and this one is definitely great for a lot of shopping, especially for big  shopping hauls.

I had a great time overall at the store and hope to go back again very soon.

February Monthly Favourites

February Favourites

It’s that time again! Time to talk about the things I’ve been loving in the previous month. We better get started, then.

UV Gel Manicure

FullSizeRender

At the beginning of the month, I treated myself to a manicure at the exclusive Superdrug Beauty Studio in Cardiff where I was introduced to the nail gel polish. It’s basically applied the same way as normal nail polish except you try your hands in a UV light  nail dryer. It prevents chipping for approximately two weeks. I went for quite a neutral colour which would go with basically any outfit, but had a glittery effect. I honestly think this is such a good alternative to the standard nail polish as it lasts so much longer. I’d highly recommend this for going away on holidays or if you have a lot going on in a closed period of time. The chipping didn’t start until the end of the two weeks, which was great. I removed the last bits of the gel off with nail polish remover and they were back to normal. This cost £15 and is definitely worth it. I’m not sure of what other salons that offer this, but I would definitely recommend having it done. I have a concert weekend in June and I plan to get my nails done the day before.

LUSH Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie

I did it again. I went to LUSH and had another little spree. One of the items I bought was the Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie. This product is absolutely gorgeous to use in both the shower and bath and makes your skin incredibly soft and smelling a mixture of floral and sweet, but neither scent overpowering. You can definitely smell the rose ingredient which is really delightful. It’s rather thick, so you don’t need much to work over your body before rinsing it off. This is £16.95 for 200g from LUSH.

W7 In The Buff: Lightly Toasted

FullSizeRender (2)

This is said to be the high street dupe of Urban Decay’s Naked. Now, unfortunately I’ve never been the proud owner of a Naked Palette (but that will change, mark my words) so I cannot compare the two products. However, I have friends who have had both products and said they are a great similarity to one another and according to other blogs and vlogs, the statement is correct. I’ve been using this palette for about three weeks now and I am very pleased with the finish. It’s fairly high pigmented and are just beautiful for both natural and smoky eye looks. I managed to get my palette from an unbranded beauty outlet, but you can get it on Amazon for £4.80.

Love, Tanya by Tanya Burr

This is the first book by Beauty Guru, Tanya Burr. It’s quite different as it’s not just an autobiography, but offers a variety of content, from her own recipes to beauty tips, love advice to confidence boosts and even the story of how she became a YouTuber. To me, this book felt like a personal guide from Tanya who is like a big sister role giving advice to her younger siblings who are her fans. The best thing is that you can re read over and over for tips and guides and not have to read from the beginning. I loved reading this book and feel like a lot of love was put into it. Love, Tanya is available for £6.49.

Eastenders LIVE: The Week of Revelations

Who Killed Lucy Beale

I’m quite an avid watcher of  Eastenders and have been watching it for years. When it was announced about EE Live week, I was super excited. The last live episode back in 2010 in the reveal of ‘Who Killed Archie Mitchell’ really had me gripped and so I was very much looking forward to an entire week with live inserts and the big reveal on Thursday alongside the flashback episode. SPOILER ALERT: I always had my suspicions of it being someone in the Beale family and a few weeks prior to live week, I saw some bizarre theories of Bobby Beale being the killer. I didn’t really believe it, but boy was I wrong! Although the theories of how he killed big sister Lucy weren’t accurate, they were right in who the killer was and I was slightly shocked. However, I have to give credit and applaud the actors and crew for putting on such an exhilarating and jam packed week full of twists and turns. My mouth was open more times than shut and I really did enjoy the entire week. Although 10 months is a very long time to keep us waiting for the killer, it did have a great turn out during the last few episodes, which I really enjoyed.

That’s it for this month! I’m really looking forward to seeing what next month’s favourites will be. Make sure you check back then!

January Favourites

January Favourites

Hey there!

You might have noticed my lack of posts the past few weeks. I just needed some time away from writing since I do it most of the time, if not on here then for other websites, so I just took a bit of a chill out. But I’m back!

Although I didn’t have a very adventurous start of the month (I spent New Year stuck in bed with a horrid flu. Lovely.) I did do quite a bit of shopping. Enough to have a good couple of items to add to my monthly favourites. Let’s begin, shall we?

Zoella Beauty

FullSizeRender (35) Zoella Mist

Between Christmas and the January sales, I was lucky enough to have everything from Zoe’s range minus her candle, which I plan to pick up as soon as I find it in store. The entire collection is beautiful and the packaging is rather vintage and girly looking which I absolutely love looking at in my bathroom. The scents of each product smell rather similar and are of a light and fresh aroma which is perfect for everyday use. The products that I own are the Fizz Bar, Soak Opera bath soak, Creamy Madly Dreamy body lotion and Blissful Mistful body mist. Out of all the products I think I’ve used Soak Opera the most because it really made my bath water soft and at one point I felt my legs in the water and they felt quit moisturised, which was a lovely unexpected quality from the product. I’d say Zoella’s products are ideal for daytime use as there is no overpowering fragrance and it’s quite light, which is the kind of scent you want for day to day use. Zoella’s products are available in Superdrug stores and on Feelunique.com

LUSH African Paradise Body Conditioner

African Paradise

Ever since Christmas Eve, I’ve been making quite a few visits to the LUSH store- I’ve been pretty obsessed! The product I have found myself using quite a lot of is the African Paradise Body Conditioner. I’ve been using it in both the bath and shower all month and it has been leaving my skin feel so soft. I had been looking at the product a lot on previous visits but wasn’t sure on whether to get it. I can honestly say this is one of the best body based purchases I’ve made. The scent is quite sweet yet not OTT and smells of mangos and almonds. It’s definitely quite tropical and makes my skin feel baby soft. Definitely a product I recommend!

Simple Skincare’s Oil Balancing Moisturiser

Simple Oil Balancing

Like many other people, I have been cursed. Cursed with the unfortunate issue of oily skin. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst in the world, but it’s definitely not fun. I’ve used many skin products in my teenhood and I genuinely think I’ve found the moisturiser for me. After doing my daily skin routine, I put a bit of this on and my skin felt amazing. It looked brighter and healthier and my family even agreed. It didn’t feel greasy in the slightest and when putting make up on, I felt as though that foundation applied much better than before. I’ve tried a few primers over the past few weeks and they all seem to be oil inducing for my skin (except the POREfessional I was raving about in a previous blog, but that’s rather expensive) so I’ve decided to use this moisturiser as a substitute primer as well as skin care at night. I’ve always been a fan of Simple and I’m pretty certain this is my favourite product of theirs.

Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars

It’s happened. We’ve found the 2015 song of the year and we’ve barely reached February. I don’t like jumping on the bandwagons with catchy songs. I didn’t want to like Gangnam Style. I was stubborn against Happy. Yet, I stumbled and fell right into the artist’s hands and they both became my favourite songs for quite a while. And now, guess what? It’s gone and happened again. I find myself hitting “replay” on my phone and it’s something I really need to stop doing! Although, to be fair, it’s such a good tune you can’t really help yourself. I feel like this is quite a great generation collab. When I told my dad about the song, he recognised Mark Ronson whereas I was more familiar with Bruno Mars. We both really enjoyed the song, so I think it’s a pretty great track for the family.
Yankee Candle True Rose

Yankee Candle True Rose

I’ve been rather fond of Yankee Candles particularly this month. I can’t seem to pass them while shopping out going to get a bit of a whiff from one to see if there’s any new scents about. One I ended up purchasing was True Rose. Of course, due to the name, it’s expected to have a floral scent but this somehow reminded me of Disneyland. More so the hotels. Maybe they’re also obsessed with Yankee Candles and secretly hide them around the accommodations? My gran also thought they smelt like the hotels and I love the nostalgic feel from my favourite place in the world, so I definitely had to buy one for my room.

That’s it for this month’s favourites! I’m hoping to get a lot on here very soon, including some reviews and posts from anything interesting going on throughout the month.

What did you love in January? Comment below with recommendations- I love discovering new things!

My 2014 favourites!

Hello!

So, this year has absolutely flown by and although it seems to have gone so fast, there are lots of things I’ve grown fond of. So much so that I’ve decided to put them all into a blog post that is my 2014 favourites. There’s so many that I’ve categorised them so it’s just easier to read and if there’s something that doesn’t particularly interest you, you can scroll past the category.

Beauty

I’m no beauty guru but I do take an interest in beauty products and often do slap a bit of make-up on before venturing out (though I’ll happily admit I can go without it and there’s many days where I won’t touch my make-up bag), so these are the products that I’ve been drawn to this year:

  • Maybelline New York’s Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner – this has been an absolute dream to put on for eyeliner. It’s like a thin felt-tip pen and it’s so easy to apply. I’ve got quite shaky hands but it doesn’t really matter with this product as it’s so simple to apply and looks really good.

Maybelline eyeliner

  • Benefit Cosmetics Porefessional – I was introduced to this a few years ago and fell in love with it. My pores are quite big and make me slightly self conscious but this product literally works like magic. I don’t know how, but it manages to make your pores practically invisible and your skin look healthier. I don’t recommend you solely use this as you should treat your skin with cleansing, etc. for it to stay clean and healthy, but if you tend to get big pores and need a quick fix, I highly recommend this product. It’s not the cheapest but it’s so good, it’s well worth the cost. I picked my latest tube up on the ferry home from Paris so I’m not sure if it’ll be the same price as it is usually.

porefessional

  • e.l.f’s Little Black Beauty Book: Warm Edition I’m quite keen on natural and bronze colours for eyeshadows and I came across this product which is full of all the shades I use. It’s so small but you get a really good use out of it. It’s great because there’s tones you may not always use but you can experiment using without having to buy that specific colour. It’s what I’ve used for my everyday make-up routine and I’ve had a great use out of the pallet.

Essential Little Black Beauty Book

  • LUSH cosmetics Ocean Sea Salt- When purchasing this, the woman behind the counter said it would change my life. She wasn’t wrong! Whenever I use this product in the shower or the bath, it makes my skin feel so much softer and look a lot healthier as well as cleaner. It smells amazing and I just feel such a difference on my skin when using it. There’s been times where I haven’t used it (like being on holidays) and when I’ve gone back to using the product, there’s a massive difference.

Ocean Salt

Music

As you may have seen from previous blog posts, I quite like music. A lot. More than a lot. Okay, it’s my life.

  • One Direction: FOUR  This is, without a doubt, their best album by far. The lads have progressed over the past four years and now that they have complete control over writing their songs, each track from the album really reflects their personalities and experiences that the fans are aware about. FOUR has an 80s vibe but with a slight twist. It’s a new sound which they have introduced to their fanbase and I, for one, am totally in love in it.

FOUR cover

  • Olly Murs: Never Been Better – This is Olly’s 4th (or 4.5th? He released a special edition last year of album 3) album and like the previous albums, he never keeps the same sound. They follow the same sort of genre but no two song sound the same. It’s a feel good album and a compelling comeback from his 8 month break- something that makes up from his break from touring and full of songs I am itching to hear on the 2015 tour.

never been better

  • 5 Seconds of Summer: Self titled album – This is the band’s debut album which has been long awaited. It was definitely well worth the wait. With songs they have been performing from their early days at gigs to newly written songs including collaborations written with the likes of James Bourne (McBusted) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low), this album is typically 5 Seconds of Summer and is definitely of a pop punk style.5 seconds of summer cover
  • Joan Jett: The Greatest Hits – I fell in love with Jett’s music over five years ago now and having rediscovering this song in my iTunes library a few months ago, it’s something I highly enjoy listening to. It’s full of feminism, in-your-face and stand up for yourself kind of music which never fails to get me in a positive mood.

Joan Jett x

Film and TV

  • The Big Bang Theory – I’ve been a fan of the show for some time now, but this year I had a big marathon of every season which took a couple of days but it reignited my love for it! I’m waiting for the new season to be available on iTunes so I can have a season marathon again.

big bang theory

  • American Horror Story – After my friends constantly kept talking about the show, I felt the need to see what the hype was about. I’ve only seen season one but Murder House was really good and had me gripped! I plan to watch all the seasons throughout 2015 to catch up.

American Horror Story

The Fault in Our Stars – I read the book last year and thought it was amazing and really well written. I anticipated the film for ages and went to watch it with my friends in the cinema. I won’t lie, I did have a little blubber! People question why other people like sad films, but the film wasn’t completely sad and it was just a nice teen film to watch and fall in love with the lead characters.

The Fault in Our Stars

  • Love, Rosie – As you’re probably aware, I went to the world premiere of the film and just fell in love with it. The storyline was gripping and the actors did such an outstanding job, I felt like I was living in the fictional world where the plot took place. I definitely want this on DVD when it releases.

Love-Rosie-Poster-slice

Miscellaneous

  • River Seine Cruise – As mentioned in my October monthly favourites, I loved the Bateaux Parisiens River Seine cruise tour. It was definitely one of the highlights to my trip and the quality of the trip for the price is just outstanding. I managed to take some really good photos, especially of the Notre Dame and the next time I have the opportunity to go to Paris for the day, this is on my list of things to do.River Seine

  • La Trattoria – This has been my favourite restaurant this year. Italian is my favourite cuisine and the food here is amazing. The food is of a high quality and the service is phenomenal. There are two restaurants, one in Talbot Green (South Wales) and one in Pontypridd, I’ve been to both and they are amazing but as the Pontypridd one is closer to home, I go to this one more often. If you live in South East Wales and happen to be near either location, I highly recommend you go to La Trattoria. It’s outstanding.

La Trattoria

Those are my 2014 favourites! There’s so much I could have written about but I didn’t want the post to be too long. What did you love this year that I should check out in 2015?

Merry Christmas!

My Monthly Favourites – August

Okay, so I know I’m not one of those beauty blogs and I’m no Zoella or Tanya Burr, but I do really like the ideas of Monthly Favourites because when I love something, I enjoy telling everyone about it and I know we’re halfway through September, but nevertheless, I want to tell you what I particularly enjoyed last month. So, let’s do this shizz.

The Big Bang Theory – Series Seven

I love TBBT but I never watch it on TV because someone in my house always hogs it when I want to watch something. It’s like a family tradition. So, I’ve caught up with it via iTunes and I practically spent every night in August staying up late to watch it on my phone before going to sleep and I just loved it. I don’t want to talk about what happens as I personally hate spoilers, so I don’t want to be mean to you if you’ve yet to see it. It was funny, good storylines and I wish I could have series 8 already but it hasn’t even aired yet, let alone gone on UK iTunes. Guess that’s me waiting another 6 months or so *sigh*.
