Hey there!
You might have noticed my lack of posts the past few weeks. I just needed some time away from writing since I do it most of the time, if not on here then for other websites, so I just took a bit of a chill out. But I’m back!
Although I didn’t have a very adventurous start of the month (I spent New Year stuck in bed with a horrid flu. Lovely.) I did do quite a bit of shopping. Enough to have a good couple of items to add to my monthly favourites. Let’s begin, shall we?
Zoella Beauty
Between Christmas and the January sales, I was lucky enough to have everything from Zoe’s range minus her candle, which I plan to pick up as soon as I find it in store. The entire collection is beautiful and the packaging is rather vintage and girly looking which I absolutely love looking at in my bathroom. The scents of each product smell rather similar and are of a light and fresh aroma which is perfect for everyday use. The products that I own are the Fizz Bar, Soak Opera bath soak, Creamy Madly Dreamy body lotion and Blissful Mistful body mist. Out of all the products I think I’ve used Soak Opera the most because it really made my bath water soft and at one point I felt my legs in the water and they felt quit moisturised, which was a lovely unexpected quality from the product. I’d say Zoella’s products are ideal for daytime use as there is no overpowering fragrance and it’s quite light, which is the kind of scent you want for day to day use. Zoella’s products are available in Superdrug stores and on Feelunique.com
LUSH African Paradise Body Conditioner
Ever since Christmas Eve, I’ve been making quite a few visits to the LUSH store- I’ve been pretty obsessed! The product I have found myself using quite a lot of is the African Paradise Body Conditioner. I’ve been using it in both the bath and shower all month and it has been leaving my skin feel so soft. I had been looking at the product a lot on previous visits but wasn’t sure on whether to get it. I can honestly say this is one of the best body based purchases I’ve made. The scent is quite sweet yet not OTT and smells of mangos and almonds. It’s definitely quite tropical and makes my skin feel baby soft. Definitely a product I recommend!
Simple Skincare’s Oil Balancing Moisturiser
Like many other people, I have been cursed. Cursed with the unfortunate issue of oily skin. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst in the world, but it’s definitely not fun. I’ve used many skin products in my teenhood and I genuinely think I’ve found the moisturiser for me. After doing my daily skin routine, I put a bit of this on and my skin felt amazing. It looked brighter and healthier and my family even agreed. It didn’t feel greasy in the slightest and when putting make up on, I felt as though that foundation applied much better than before. I’ve tried a few primers over the past few weeks and they all seem to be oil inducing for my skin (except the POREfessional I was raving about in a previous blog, but that’s rather expensive) so I’ve decided to use this moisturiser as a substitute primer as well as skin care at night. I’ve always been a fan of Simple and I’m pretty certain this is my favourite product of theirs.
Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPf0YbXqDm0]
It’s happened. We’ve found the 2015 song of the year and we’ve barely reached February. I don’t like jumping on the bandwagons with catchy songs. I didn’t want to like Gangnam Style. I was stubborn against Happy. Yet, I stumbled and fell right into the artist’s hands and they both became my favourite songs for quite a while. And now, guess what? It’s gone and happened again. I find myself hitting “replay” on my phone and it’s something I really need to stop doing! Although, to be fair, it’s such a good tune you can’t really help yourself. I feel like this is quite a great generation collab. When I told my dad about the song, he recognised Mark Ronson whereas I was more familiar with Bruno Mars. We both really enjoyed the song, so I think it’s a pretty great track for the family.
Yankee Candle True Rose
I’ve been rather fond of Yankee Candles particularly this month. I can’t seem to pass them while shopping out going to get a bit of a whiff from one to see if there’s any new scents about. One I ended up purchasing was True Rose. Of course, due to the name, it’s expected to have a floral scent but this somehow reminded me of Disneyland. More so the hotels. Maybe they’re also obsessed with Yankee Candles and secretly hide them around the accommodations? My gran also thought they smelt like the hotels and I love the nostalgic feel from my favourite place in the world, so I definitely had to buy one for my room.
That’s it for this month’s favourites! I’m hoping to get a lot on here very soon, including some reviews and posts from anything interesting going on throughout the month.
