The Potting Shed

Yesterday I visited The Potting Shed in Llantrisant for breakfast and to write a review about one of my favourite places to visit. The Potting Shed is a luxury homeware and gift shop with a tea room attached. I’ve visited a handful of times before after recommendation from my mother and I have never been disappointed as to what they have to offer.

The tea room is a quaint little cafe area attached to the store which has a friendly and welcoming vibe. The country kitchen interior is most aesthetically pleasing and brings an all round family friendly cosiness.

I ordered a pot of tea with a slice of chocolate cake and toast while my mother ordered a coffee and toast. We were fortunate enough to sit on the comfy sofa area by the roaring log fire which really gave a homely atmosphere. The staff at The Potting Shed are most helpful and welcoming people.

What’s great about The Potting Shed is that if you fancy the deco or accessories around you, then there’s a high chance you can buy them in the store. From children’s toys to gifts for special occasions and even homeware essentials and luxuries, when visiting this hidden treasure trove, there’s always something eye catching which is tempting to buy. There’s even a lot of accessories with Welsh phrases, which really makes the place feel a lot more patriotic.

The only slight disappointment with this beauty of a shop is that its location is slightly hidden away and requires driving to access but when I take my friends to visit, it feels like I’m showing them a real hidden gem, so every cloud has a silver lining.

I highly recommend visiting The Potting Shed as it has a wonderful atmosphere and a cosy place to grab a light bite or even a meal as well as browsing for home luxuries.

  1. I’ve never been, but it looks lovely. I don’t live far so next time in the area I might pop in x

  2. This looks a great place to visit. I’d much rather tea over coffee any day and don’t get the fuss over these coffee chains like costa and starbucks. Small, independent tea or coffee houses are much better x

  3. I’ve always wanted to go here!! Can we go sometime?!
