I haven’t done a Christmas tag since last blogmas! So I thought it would be fun to do one again this year and to tag some great bloggers to also partake in the tag!
1. What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
I have quite a few but I really enjoy Mickey’s Christmas Carol or The Muppets Christmas Carol. Disney have done some fantastic takes on the classic story.
2. Do you like to stay in PJs all day or dress up?
I stay in my PJs until around 11am, where I’ll then put on any new clothes I’ve received as well as use any new fragrances and new makeup.
3. Do you open presents in the morning or the afternoon?
Always the morning! It used to be a ridiculous time of day, but I’ve been told that it’s “silly” to do that now I’m an “adult”. Pfft. So around 8:30-9am my stepdad will pick my gran up from her house and we’ll get on with opening presents.
4. Who would be your celebrity kiss under the mistletoe?
Ooooh! I think it’d have to be Niall Horan. Definitely wouldn’t turn him down.
5. Favourite Christmas smell?
There’s an Air Wick scent of mulled wine and another scent which I’m not sure if it’s a Yankee Candle or something else but it’s spiced cinnamon apple which is also gorgeous. Those are my top two but pretty much any festive Yankee Candle is up there in great scents.
6. Favourite Christmas treat?
Cadbury’s Chocolate Yule Log. It’s a blessing for the tastebuds!
7. Where do you spend Christmas day?
I spend it at home with my mother, my stepdad, my gran and my dogs! Sometimes my stepbrother will come up for Christmas Dinner, too.
8. Real or fake Christmas trees?
Fake. Real ones are a pain in the backside and also a fake will last longer!
9. What’s your favourite holiday drink?
I’m not into alcohol, really. I like to drink hot chocolate more though from October onwards, so I guess that counts? I do have a bit of Lambrini on a New Year, though!
10. Candy canes or gingerbread men?
None really, but my mother made these chocolates for her Wedding (which was Christmas Eve) and had bits of candy cane chopped up and they tasted delish. So I guess technically candy canes.
11. What’s your favourite Christmas song?
Fairytale of New York – The Pogues. WHAT A TUNE. I do like Do They Know It’s Christmastime, too, by Band Aid because it reminds me to stay charitable and not to forget the less fortunate at Christmas. I often do little things like pop to Poundland in Cardiff and get a homeless person a meal, or make a hamper to donate to the Trussell Trust.
12. Have you ever built a snowman?
Yes! I’ve made a few but the best one I made was one time when it was snowing and we went up the mountain and made a beast of a snowman… until my dog Fidget went bombing through him right as we were about to put the carrot on for his nose. DEVASTATED.
13. What is top of your Christmas list?
There’s not really something I’m desperate for this year. I’d be grateful for anything, but people know I’d like travel related things for a trip I’m planning for next Spring. If I had to pick something it’d be the LUSH Rose Jam gift set.
14. What is most important to you about the holidays?
Spending time with my family and just enjoying the time of year together. Making memories and having fun.
15. When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
This year I first got excited during August. I was full of cold and some reason felt a bit festive?! So it’s been on my mind since then. But I’ve been full Christmas spirit since Halloween finished.
16. Do you still have advent calendars?
I do indeed! I bloody love an advent calendar.
17. Favourite Christmas memory?
One year I said to my dad “I wouldn’t even mind if I just have bubble wrap for Christmas, I love bubble wrap. I just want to have a good day.” You can guess what he wrapped up in a box for me. Yup, bubble wrap! I did have other presents, though, too.
18. What do you eat for Christmas dinner?
Yorkshire puddings, carrots, sprouts, Quorn family roast, potatoes, I think we sometimes have cauliflower? Roasties and roast parsnips. Of course, gravy as well.
19. What is the best present you’ve ever received?
This is so difficult! I’ve had amazing presents every year, to be fair. The one I’ve had great use out of for years is a pair of Babyliss Straighteners which have lasted me since 2009 and are still going strong. I think I was happiest receiving my first iPhone off my dad that year, too, because it was so unexpected and I really wanted one, but didn’t ask because I didn’t think it was possible (only God had one back then!)
20. Have you ever had a white Christmas?
I think a few back in the 90s but the last one was actually 2009 I think? That was a good Christmas.
21. Have you ever spent Christmas abroad? Where would you like to go for Christmas?
I haven’t! I’d like to think one year we could go somewhere but it would have to be dog friendly. I wonder if we could get a ferry and drive to somewhere like Switzerland? That’d be sick.
I tag Lily The Lost Girl, LazyGoth, A Slice of My Life Wales and Faded Spring!
Jazz is a Disney, tea and pop culture enthusiast with a passion for blogging. Also a proud introvert.
Spiced cinnamon apple is the kind of scent I love too! I love tag posts like this!
What a fun tag, I so want to do it too now, some of your answers would be similar to mine for sure except for Niall Horan lol
I’d have to snog Zac Efron under the mistletoe. What a hunk! Great tag x
I spent Christmas in Hawaii one year – very different! We had a wedding there. Love yule log too x
I have a gin advent calendar which is a bit naughty but it’s christmas!
Hahaha what a great memory of your dad, cheeky cheeky!
I LOVE Rose Jam! I’m hoping for the gift set, too. It needs to be part of the permanent range.
I’m drooling from the Christmas Dinner question! Love a good christmas tag.
I’d love to kiss Michael Buble under the mistletoe – he’s very festive too!
What a fun post! And I’d recommend doing christmas abroad at least once! I spent 2 christmas’s in Australia. Only problem is I had one too many glasses of prosecco and ended up serving christmas dinner at 11PM!!! Ah well, it was about the right time in the UK atleast…!
This xmas tag is great. I love yule log too
