Coachella 2017: The Best Dressed of the Desert Festival

This weekend saw the first three days of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which included incredible music performances from the likes of Radiohead, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar amongst many others. But besides the entertainment values, the festival in Palm Springs is massively popular for the fashion that is donned by the attendees, in particularly the famous. After seeing a wave of photos from the weekend posted on social media, I’ve decided to share with you my choice of the Coachella 2017 best dressed.

Tanya Burr

I think Tanya’s simple look is so pretty and also really achievable to be recreated on a high street budget.  The skater dress is perfect for dancing and moving around in, without causing too much of a fuss. Of course, denim jackets have been making a big comeback, especially in the faded blue colour. I’m also in love with the simple 90s choker that Tan has chosen to accessorise with.

Vanessa Hudgens

AKA the Queen of Coachella. Vanessa rocks many looks over the three day festival, but it’s this dress that caught my eye. I love the fact that it’s so bold and floral, which are perfect trends if you want to make a statement in your outfit. Because of the dress being such a statement, there’s not much need for accessorising, so I applaud V’s choice of just wearing some big earrings and a few small bracelets.

Josephine Skriver

Model, Josephine Skriver, looked so pretty in this baby blue number. With Coachella literally taking place in a desert, a bralette and shorts is probably a good call (so long as you wear a lot of sun screen!) I’m also a big fan of the tint in her sunglasses matching the outfit, too. There’s a lot of thought in such a simple outfit.

Camryn

Camryn’s outfit is the rock chick take on a Coachella look. Festivals are so full of bright colours, so one good way to stand out is to rebel in this factor and wear darker clothing. Keeping with the shorts theme, I’m loving the look Camryn pulled together with some biker boots and a band shirt-style top which is cut into a more flattering shape, making it ideal for the hotter weather. Black shades are my favourite kind of sunglasses, so I think Cam made a perfect choice here.

Serayah

Serayah’s bold orange ensemble is such a head turner. You know when she’s coming or going. The crochet-style cardigan is perfect to throw on as the sun sets over the night owls partying with a slightly cooler breeze and can completely change the outfit.

Amanda Steele

Similar to Camryn’s rock-chick look, Amanda’s biker babe attire is another way to stray away from the typical theme of festival fashion. I’m all heart-eyed over the rose print shorts and really keen on the detailing of her vest jacket.

Lauren Jauregui

Fifth Harmony’s Lauren is giving some serious safai vibes with this outfit. The big belt and hat make it questionable as to whether she’s attending a festival or going on a jungle cruise, but who cares? Because she is seriously rocking this look.

Danielle Peazer

Fashion blogger, Danielle Peazer, looks so pretty in this dress. The lightweight material makes it ideal to keep the sun off but not cause too much of a heat issue when in the California weather. The minimal jewellery and belt really bring the look together as something simple but really effective for a summery outfit.

Gigi Gorgeous

The beautiful Gigi Gorgeous basking in the Palm Springs sun really shows off her gorgeous OOTD. Again, the bralette is a great choice considering the desert weather and the sandals are a typical festival footwear which goes so well in this little number that Miss Gorgeous is pulling off.

Halsey

Going for more of a grungy take on her outfit, singer-songwriter – Halsey – has donned the 2017 fashion trend of ripped jeans and fishnets, which I’m taking quite the liking to right now. Keeping cool in the sunshine, she’s joined the likes of many other festival-goers by throwing on a bralette, which was also a good move to show off her body artwork in the form of tattoos. The 2016 choker trend has rolled into 2017 and Halsey seems to be doing a good job in keeping that up.

Ashley Tisdale

Double denim is back and the former Disney star is making it work. Bringing back the 70s trend, Ashley gives it a millennial twist with her bralette and beach wave hair. I really hope to see this being a big trend at festivals this year.

Ariel Winter

I think Ariel’s dungarees are perfect for festival season. The floral print is bang on trend but taking a more edgy approach with the black contrast from the flowers. But despite her outfit being on point, it’s her hair that is the main attraction of her look.

What were your favourite Coachella outfits from weekend one? Are there any trends you’ll be adapting to your festival fashion?
