Sunday Style Steal Halsey

Hey there!

It’s time for another Sunday’s Style Steal! This person, a lot of you may not be aware of this artist but she’s someone that my friends all seem to really love and I think her style is pretty awesome and great to recreate. Halsey is an American music artist from Washington and follows the style of the indie pop genre and was the most talked about person online during South by Southwest (SXSW) 2015.

The outfit I’m focusing on is from an Instagram post of her winning an award recently. I think it’s a great summer look for parties that aren’t formal or just an edgy but simple look to wear out and about.

Halsey’s top is pretty simple and is a ribbed crop cami from Topshop for £6. However, you can get a vest like this from pretty much anywhere and there’s a good chance you already own one!

The main focus on Halsey’s outfit is her bright yellow  pelmet skirt. You can get the exact from Topshop for £36. It’s definitely ideal for summer and bringing out the bold colours but allowing you to wear black if that’s a colour you like to wear a lot. It could make up a numerous amount of skirt-vest outfits for the summer and if you’re daring with your colours, it’s something I’d recommend even if you weren’t trying to recreate this look.

Halsey’s hat is a pork pie hat and is again from Topshop for £18. These hats are nothing new to the world of fashion trends, but is a much loved accessory for both male and female.

Halsey wears the Jeffrey Campbell Scully Platforms from Nasty Gal for £98.56 which is a high price for most but are a designer brand. If you’re planning to get your wear out of these shoes, then they’re worth the purchase. Otherwise, I would recommend some wedged boots or any black shoe that best suits you.

I hope you liked Sunday’s Style Steal for this week! Let me know in the comments your thoughts or if there’s anyone’s style you’d like me to recreate.
