Another month is over and so another favourites is shared. I didn’t do an August favourites as I was literally ill for the entire month – the flu is ferocious! Anyway, I know my birthday has just passed so I’m trying to refrain from using anything I recieved as a gift in my favourites as I’ve not had much use out of them yet. Without further ado, here’s what I’ve been loving in September!
Ball Mania
Imagine being able to relive your childhood for the day. That’s exactly what I did this month with my best friend, Lily, who took us to Ball Mania! It’s the UK’s biggest adult-only ball pit that tours the UK and the first weekend of September it stopped in Cardiff. The ball pit was able to fill the entire room at Tramshed and had a disco theme with music from the 80s and 90s. It was so much fun to not give a damn about anything except for having fun. It actually felt like it reduced my anxiety a lot, which is something I get when travelling and an hour to Cardiff on the train gets my nerves going a bit. There was also a kids party-style buffet and cartoons in the cinema room, so I had a blast being all nostalgic and going back to the 90s-early 2000s! If there’s an event ever near you, I highly recommend you book a ticket and go and let your hair down.
Feel Good 101 by Emma Blackery
In the promotion and introduction of this book, Emma makes it very clear: This book will not change your life. Did it change mine? No. But what it did do was give me a clearer view on life and give me a sense of both understanding and being understood. In this book, Emma shares her 25 years of life experience in a beautifully written guide in the form of essays, each accompanied with the best advice she could give to her audience and it felt like for the first time, I genuinely am not alone. You have these different people in life tell you that you are not alone, but to read the real life stories which you can connect to on a personal level and be handed words of wisdom, it’s like you’ve finally been given an answer to a question which never seems solvable, like when you are given your first pair of glasses to give you that HD vision. Emma made me feel more accepted, more understood and as though that the ruts that I am constantly weaving in and out of aren’t going to last forever.Having met Emma and interviewed her just a few months before this release, I actually had a minor panic attack in her presence, which she made me feel so much calmer. I didn’t really know how she was able to do this, but reading this book gave me that answer and has given me nothing but respect for her. This is a book that I only wished existed when I was a teen, where I felt so alone and that so much of what I’ve experienced was much more heightened in the sense of drama and intensity.

Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops
I love highlighter. In fact, it may even be a bit of an addiction. I’ve seen the liquid chrome on Instagram quite a bit and decided to pick it up not too long ago and oh my days, I’m obsessed. If you’re looking for the not-so-subtle but not-too-blinding kind of highlight shimmer on your face, this is the perfect product. I like to not go too natural but I don’t want it being at a ridiculous amount as I don’t think it suits me all too well, though the people who can pull it off, I do very much admire. There’s different shades for the kind of glow you want – I went for moon potion but I also love the look at precious pearl.

Out Loud – Gabbie Hanna
Gabbie Hanna is more publically known as The Gabbie Show – a social media star best known for her cheeky vines and hilarious YouTube videos. Gabbie has always been vocal about her love of music and this year has decided to take that burning passion and put it into a project, thus releasing her first ever single. I love this song so much because it tells a story without too much detail that you can apply it to your own imagination or relatable tales. Gabbie has a gorgeous unique and husky voice which we don’t hear too often on the charts these days. I’ve had this song on repeat countless times and I’m so excited to see what’s next for her music wise.
Out Loud is available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify now
PS Pro Blending Brushes
Oval blending brushes have been a thing for about a year but of course, I’m always fashionably late to trying trends. My friend did a livestream of a makeup tutorial and seeing her using them inspired me to give them a go and oh my goodness, why didn’t I jump on this bandwagon earlier?! I use my beauty blender for foundation, but I set it with powder using one of these which also smoothes out all of my foundation evenly. Blending in my contour and highlight, the smaller brushes are perfect and I get such a great finish, I really do love these brushes and Primark have outdone themselves on these brushes.

The Sims 4 Digital Deluxe
This has been out for a while and I used to have it about a year ago, but lost interest. This month I’ve rediscovered my love for the franchise I grew up loving over 10 years. There’s been recent upgrades where the toddlers are more active, where you teach them skills and take part more in the family. There’s a lot of expansion packs, game and stuff packs, which so far I’ve been playing Get to Work (where you are more active in the sims’ work lives), Outdoor Retreat (allowing you to take your sims on a camping style vacation), Spa Day (where the Sims can go to a luxurious spa, relax and learn about wellness) and Spooky Stuff (giving Sims the chance to throw Halloween parties and have spooky themed decor). I’ve really been enjoying creating the families and being more active in giving them great careers along with opening a bakery and retail store. Throwing parties has been a blast, too. If building great lots is not your thing, the community is ideal as you can download amazing lots and households that other skilled Simmers have made from around the world – people have made celebrities (One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer) and branded lots (Starbucks, Topshop) which are always fun to introduce your Sims to.

Too Much To Ask – Niall Horan
Niall has always been my weakness when it comes to One Direction members and the beautiful Irishman has released his third single ahead of his debut album, Flicker. The third track, Too Much To Ask, is a heartbreaking ballad co-written by Horan himself and Jamie Scott. The tear-jerker sees Niall spieling his regrets of a breakup and asking his former partner if she feels the same way. This song pulls at my heartstrings and has been on my Autumn playlist. I cannot wait to hear the album releasing next month and a tour is on the horizon, which you can bet I’ll be trying to get tickets for.
Too Much To Ask is available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify now
Zoella Beauty Gelat’Eau Body Mist
Zoella has released a new collection under her beauty range called Jelly and Gelato which I am all for. It’s a Summery and childhood retro feeling collection and I had to pick up the body mist because out of every range, I find it’s always my favourite product out of them all. With notes of elderflower jelly and rich double cream, this is a delicious indulgent to wear on summer days or maybe pack with you when going abroad where the weather is quite kind to you, or if you’re just feeling in a bright and pastel kind of mood.
Available from Superdrug for £2.00
Exploding Kittens
Oh my God, is this game fun or what?! We discovered this game when we were in Longlands and my step brother was already a pro, so with his guidance, this ended up being the regular evening activity and man is it great fun and really tense. I’m not going to explain the game because I’m pretty rubbish at doing that, but if you’re looking for a family game to play on holidays or on a night in or Christmas, etc. then this is for you! I think what made the game ten times more fun is how serious we took it and the profanities that were yelled by my stepdad. He took the game oh so seriously and when he lost, we heard all about it. You’ll betray one another, you’ll see people’s true colours, but it’s so much fun. I think it’d also be a great present for uni students for the nights they decide not to go out. I loved the game so much, my stepbro and his girlfriend got me my own set for my birthday!

Reggaeton Lento Remix – Little Mix X CNCO
Move over, Despacito, because there’s a new Spanglish song and it’s incredible. Reggaeton Lento Remix is the English version of CNCO’s hit, Reggaeton Lento with Little Mix added to the track. I find this song to be so summery and fun to listen to. I love hearing the mix of English and Spanish dance together to the latin beats in this lustful and sexy song. Plus, the music video is amazing. I can’t speak Spanish, but I think I’ve nailed almost all of the lyrics after listening to it practically every day for the past month. Get this on your playlist ASAP.
Reggaeton Lento Remix is available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify now
